For beginners, we recommend the 2D1N Rinjani crater rim trek via Senaru, which is challenging but achievable with good fitness. We pace every trek to suit your group and provide full support from our experienced local porter team.
For first-timers, the 2D1N Rinjani crater rim trek from Senaru is the most popular and accessible option. You’ll reach the crater rim at 2,641m and see the stunning Segara Anak lake and Rinjani caldera — without the extreme physical demands of a summit climb.
The best time for Mount Rinjani trekking is April to December, which is the dry season on Lombok. July and August are the most popular months — clear skies, cool nights, and stunning visibility from the crater rim. We strongly advise against trekking during the wet season (January–March) as trails can be dangerous.
